Seth Tuman has more than 20 years of experience managing resources, budgets and financials, and growth for law firms. He has worked with sole proprietors, limited liability companies, professional corporations, and government agencies to assess and manage personnel, develop and implement efficiencies, strategize business development and scale, and maximize profits. His education, experience, and entrepreneurial spirit facilitate analysis of each unique environment to help businesses succeed.
Seth earned his J.D., but early on recognized and followed his passion for the business-side of the law. While gaining litigation and project management experience, he obtained his M.B.A. from Pepperdine. He has experience in both the day-to-day functioning and logistical requirements of a law firm, as well as the strategic planning necessary for business continuity and growth. Seth recognizes the success of a business relies not just on the provision of a service or product, but the efficient and effective collaboration of all members of the business team.
Each business has its own unique personality, culture, and expectations. One size does not fit all when it comes to administration and management. Seth recognizes that individual empowerment and recognition of the value of each team member’s contribution to the enterprise are foundational prerequisites to success. He works diligently to evaluate and implement procedures and processes to ensure cross-functional collaboration that optimizes organizational productivity.
Prior to joining the 2GO Advisory Group, Seth served as Chief Operating Officer for startup and mid-sized law firms, where he worked in conjunction with stakeholders and employees to establish and meet goals and objectives, and foster client relations. In addition to day-to-day operations and management of budgets, payroll, accounting systems, financing, and banking matters -- including compliance and fraud protection -- Seth has recruited, hired, and trained all levels of professionals and contractors to meet business needs. He has also managed the expansion, build-out, and development of new office spaces, as well as the creation and staffing of temporary office locations around the country.
For the past several years, Seth has expanded his experience and knowledge through professional memberships and development opportunities. He is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), a group of more than 8,000 law firms, corporate legal departments, and government legal agencies, through which professionals network and collaborate concerning industry innovation and operational strategies and solutions. Seth has also been involved with Pilot-Legis, a consortium of small to mid-sized firms across the country focused on risk mitigation and control of professional liability insurance costs. Through Pilot-Legis, he interviewed employees and partners of member law firms, audit existing systems and processes, and recommend risk mitigation procedures.
When not working, Seth spends quality time with his wife, two teenage children, and two dogs, often on a baseball or soccer field. He appreciates the outdoors and especially enjoys hiking, camping, and fishing.
